# How to Create a Parent or Donor

### Further Reading

To add a new parent or donor in TUIO, follow these steps:

1. **Go to the Parents Tab**  
   Navigate to the **Parents** tab and click the **Create Parent** button.
2. **Enter Parent Information**  
   Provide the **parent’s name** and **email address**. You can also add a **phone number** if desired.
3. **Optional: Mark as Donor Only**  
   If the profile is intended solely for donations (not linked to a student), check the **"Donor only"** box.
4. **Linking to a Student**  
   After creating the parent profile, go to the **Students** tab to link the parent to a student, if applicable.
5. **Add Additional Information**  
   If custom form fields are set up, you can enter more details directly in the parent profile.
6. **Recording Donations**  
   You can [record and manage donations](https://support.tuiopay.com/b.-how-to-add-a-donation-made-offline?hsLang=en) for both Parents and Donors from the **Donations** tab.
